Calendar for Summer A (6 week session)

WEEK ONE

Mon May 6 - Go over syllabus and website.  Take First Quiz (5 points)  Go over quiz answers. Start chapter 2 up to survey method - representative samples, questionaires, and interviews.

Wed May 8 - Finish chapter 2. Start chapter 3 up to vestibular bulbs, Bartholin's glands, pelvic floor muscles, Kegel exercises, vagina, tampon insertion and removal.

WEEK TWO

Mon May 13 - Quiz over sex research (Chapter 2). Continue chapter 3 up to female breasts, anatomical parts of the breast, breast implants

Mon May 13 - Drop/Refund Deadline (11:59pm)

Wed May 15 - Demonstration of how to take MindTap Quiz. Finish chapter 3.  Practice finding hidden breast lumps inside model breasts (5 points). Start and finish chapter 4 (males).

WEEK THREE

Mon May 20 - Begin with a question and answer period. Start and finish chapter 6 (sexual response chapter) and start chapter 5 (gender chapter) up to X and Y chromosomes determine the biological sex, and how twins occur (identical, fraternal, and conjoined) Exam over Chapters 2 and 3 (100 points). MindTap Quiz Due (5 points). First opportunity to turn in extra credit essay(s) (5 points per essay - 2 essays allowed per semester).

Wed May 22 - Continue up to transexual, and transgender, and cultures with more than 2 genders.

WEEK FOUR

Mon May 27 - MEMORIAL DAY - NO CLASSES

Wed May 29 - Finish gender chapter (5), and start STD/STI chapter (15) up to hepatitis A, B, and C.

and Exam over Chapters 4 and 6.

WEEK FIVE

Mon June 3 - Finish STD chapter. Start contraception chapter up to condoms, diaphragms, and cervical caps.

Wed June 5 - Finish contraception chapter. Start pregnancy chapter up to ART, IVF, and ICSI,

and Exam over Chapters 5 and 15.

Fri June 7 - Withdrawal Deadline 11:59

WEEK SIX

5 POINT EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITY REMINDER:

Mon June 10 - Continue up to effects of smoking and drinking alcohol during pregnancy

Wed June 12 - Finish pregnancy chapter. Answer questions about study guides. Discuss sexual orientation.

WEEK SEVEN

Mon June 17 - Watch Daddy & Papa movie.

Exam over chapter 10 (30 questions on topics from the contraception chapter study guide)

and chapter 11 (10 questions from the TOP TEN version of the pregnancy chapter study guide)

and chapter 9 (5 extra credit questions based on the movie "Daddy and Papa")

= FINAL EXAM

LAST CHANCE TO TURN IN EXTRA CREDIT ESSAYS

(You can turn in TWO essays for the whole semester -

if you have not turned in any yet, you can turn in up to two essays today,

if you have already turned in one essay this semester, you can turn in one essay today)
