An article from Johns Hopkins Magazine September 2000 edition.  This is a 7 page article featuring the work and philosophy of Hopkins psychiatrist William Reimer.  He used to be a urologist who specialized in surgically treating young patients born with irregular genitals.  Now Reimer is a psychiatrist specializing in treating the psychological effects associated with intersex conditions.  He is one among a growing number of physicians calling for a dramatic change in the way doctors treat babies with intersex conditions.
